The active stable

In our active stable, 16 horses live in 2 groups, separated into geldings and mares. Life in the active stable is modeled on the life of horses in their original steppe habitat. The distribution of feeding and watering points creates an incentive for the horses to move, just like in the wild. This corresponds to the horses' movement and respiratory system, which is designed for several hours of daily exercise, and ensures that they stay healthy.

The unlimited supply of low-energy, high-fiber feed and the distribution of the concentrate ration into many small portions are adapted to the basic physiological needs of the horses.

Living in a herd with a hierarchy that gives the individual animal security and the resulting social contact between the horses ensures the horses' mental well-being.

The result is balanced, happy and healthy horses!

The paddock boxes

Box housing can also be animal-friendly!

There are various reasons for keeping horses in stalls. They are animal-friendly if the horses have the opportunity to have direct contact with their conspecifics, can see their surroundings and have a good, low-dust stable climate with sufficient light and oxygen. The possibility of several hours of free movement in the pasture or a paddock ensures animal welfare.

Standard paddock box: 3 x 4 m = 12 m² box + 12m² paddock

Comfort paddock box: 6 x 4 m = 24 m² paddock with hay rack

Grooming areas and tack room

The provision of grooming areas, a washing area and a solarium enable hygienic horse care. There are also places available for visits to the vet and farrier for undisturbed treatment.

The washing area is equipped with hot and cold water.

In the heated tack room, lockers and a ceiling rack keep things tidy.

The riding hall, outdoor arenas and riding area

A well-maintained indoor riding arena measuring 20 x 40, a dressage arena and a lunging arena offer a wide range of exercise options for your horse.

The willows

The horses at the Rittergut riding facility enjoy regular grazing on 4.5 hectares of well-kept pastures during the grazing season from May to October. The horse droppings are collected daily from the pastures in order to contain the spread of parasites and maintain the quality of the pastures.

The seminar room with terrace

In the large and friendly seminar room of the riding facility, which is equipped with the latest technology and offers a view of the riding hall as well as the pastures and the riding area, public seminars are always held in addition to internal events such as Christmas parties and open days, some of which are given by the farm manager Ute Roßmayer herself on topics of animal-friendly husbandry and economic farm management.

There are also regular seminars with external trainers and speakers on a wide range of topics. The public seminars are announced on our homepage under Seminars or News.

The seminar room can also be hired for seminars, celebrations or other events. If you have any questions, please contact the manager Ute Lex.

In fine weather, the wooden terrace with a view of the active stable and the pastures invites you to linger and relax.
